Boat tour to Araya and Mochima

3 days Mochima / Araya

From January to July
Day 1 - Overnight in Carupano
The first night you will spend at a posada in Carupano. It is located directly at the beach and comes with nicely designed doubles and triples, features a shower/toilet, A/C or fan and TV. Some rooms have nice sea view. The female chief of the house supplies you with tasty food and you can finish the day off with cold beer and company in the evening.
Day 2 - Mochima
The morning starts off with a transfer to the gulf of Cariaco. There our boat is anchored. We navigate close along the coastline, admire the folds of mountains which separated the Gulf from the Caribbean Sea up to “Punta Cangrejo”, a wonderfully, protected bay with a forsaken posada. We will make a snorkel stop here to see corals, oysters and a lot of fish. It goes on to the Laguna Grande, a heavily divided bay with many protected bights. Here you will find a desert-like landscape with slightly curved and sparse grown mountains which shine in all shades of red. We pass Laguna Chica, Punta Arena and the impressive ruins of the Castillo de Santiago de Leon de los Caballeros. This massive fortress serves as a backfield for the salines. The lading port for salt follows and finally the salines. On our way back a stop at Puenta Arena is planned where you can take a bath. In the gulf of Cariaco there are hundreds of dolphins, it is the nursery ground of the salines. The chance to see a school of dolphins is very high. We will reach the pier around 4 pm.
Day 2 - Mochima
Around 8 o´clock the next boat trip starats. After having passed Cumana we go on to the next jewel of Venezuela. Embedded in a mountainous coastal landscape the national park Mochima is located. It is among the most beautiful parks of the country and consists of 55 islands. Here we will take some stops to go snoring again. You will definitely see dolphins too which accompany the boat on its tour. Afterwards we will carry you to dream-like white beaches. Small restaurants will serve for your physical well-being here. In the afternoon we drive to Cumana. The tour will end there. If you wish we can provide you with further information regarding further destinations. On all the tours we developed security and a good seamanship are of mayor priority. We reserve the right to delay tours at short notice or cancel them due to weather conditions and sea motion. The minimum number of participants are four people.
